Abstract

  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter I-2019 measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp. 18.02 trillion and 2010 GDP at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp. 12.98 trillion.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter I-2019 against the first quarter of 2018 grew by 2.79 percent (y on y), an increase compared to the quarter I-2018 achievement of 2.51 percent. In terms of production, the biggest source of growth comes from the Mining and Excavation Business Field. While in terms of expenditure, the largest source of growth comes from the Components of Household Consumption Expenditures.
  • Economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter 1-2019 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) fell by -1.16 percent. In terms of production, the decline was caused by the contraction that occurred in several business fields with the deepest contraction experienced by the Education Services category, followed by the category of Defense Government Administration and Compulsory Social Security. In terms of expenditure, contraction occurred in almost all components except for LNPRT Consumption Expenditures, Foreign Exports and Household Consumption Expenditures. LNPRT Consumption Expenditures have a fairly good performance driven by the legislative and presidential election campaign period that occurred in this quarter. On the other hand, the biggest contraction occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure component. Absorption of the government budget for personnel expenditure, goods and services expenditure and capital expenditure is not as good as quarter IV-2018.
  • The total GDP of the ADHB of Sumatra Island in quarter I-2019 reached Rp. 823,102 billion or around 21.36 percent of the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia, while the ADHK GRDP of Sumatra in the first quarter of 2019 reached Rp. 563,965 billion. The economic growth of Sumatra in the first quarter of 2019 fell by -0.57 percent (q-to-q), but on a y-on-y basis it grew by 4.55 percent. While the Bangka Belitung Islands GRDP contributed 2.19 percent to the Sumatra Island GRDP and 0.47 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
