Abstract

In July 2020 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.26 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.12. Out of 90 CPI cities, 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Timika by 1.45 percent with CPI of 106.95 and the lowest occurred in Jember and Banyuwangi by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari by 1.09 percent with CPI of 107.21 and the lowest occurred in Gunungsitoli, Bogor, Bekasi, Luwuk and Bulukumba by 0.01 percent.
Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by an increase in some indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.34 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.14 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels by 0.01 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.05 percent; transportation group by 0.69 percent; recreation, sports and culture group of 0.35 percent; education group by 0.88 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.16 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 0.13 percent. The health and information, communication and financial services groups did not change. No group experienced deflation.
The inflation rate for the July 2020 calendar year is 0.65 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019) is 0.88 percent.
The energy group in July 2020 experienced a deflation of 0.02 percent with CPI of 100.45. Meanwhile, the foodstuff component in July 2020 experienced inflation of 0.24 percent with CPI 104.52.
