Abstract

IDI is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of three aspects of democracy, namely Civil Freedom, Political Rights, and Institution of Democracy.
  • The methodology for calculating IDI uses 4 data sources, namely: (1) local newspaper review, (2) document review (Perda, Pergub, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and (4) in-depth interviews.
  • The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in 2019 reached 76.75 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure has increased compared to the 2018 IDI number of 73.43. The achievement of Bangka Belitung Islands democratic performance is still in the category of "medium". The level of democracy is classified into three categories, namely "good" (index> 80), "moderate" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index <60).
  • The change in the IDI numbers of the Bangka Belitung Islands from 20182019 was influenced by three aspects of democracy namely (1) Civil Liberties rose 3.17 points (from 80.95 to 84.12), (2) Political Rights decreased by 1.85 points (from 73 , 56 to 71.71), and (3) Democratic Institutions up 11.72 points (from 63.76 to 75.48).
